Martin talks to us about his exciting career and the work he and his team are doing on qubit interfacing, cryogenic integration, and creating superconducting qubits that can operate at higher temperatures. The work of the Glasgow team could bring key advantages for scaling to larger numbers of qubits - in particular, integrating Cryo-CMOS electronics to move control electronics from room to cryogenic temperatures and reduce heat burdens as qubit numbers scale up.
We also hear about Martin's journey with Quantum Design Oxford dilution refrigerators, which started over 10 years ago with Triton systems, leading to two Proteox®MX systems and their new ProteoxS system, installed this year.
